2009 News

Welcome to our blog for 2009.

The Needle Arts Guild of Toledo is excited to be meeting at a new time and in a new location. You can find us on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church, 3205 Glendale Avenue (right across the street from the University of Toledo Medical School). We have a great big room with several tables and a full size kitchen to use during our meetings.

Kim Hammer our new Program Chair has several good ideas for the upcoming months. For those of us who have projects that are "older than we care to remember" we have been challenged to complete at least one project by the end of 2009. In fact we signed a contract with the piece listed beside our name. Kim is still working on incentives for us, besides the embarrassment of saying we will finish the project and not doing it!!

Irene Leonard is checking out correspondence courses we may want to explore this year. We also would like to plan another Saturday to stitch as a group on something special. Everyone who attended the day at 577 Foundation in November, 2008 had a great time.

Christine Hampshire is our new Publicity Chair and she is already getting us into the news.
Please keep her posted on happenings so she can publicize our guild nationally, regionally, and locally. As part of her new position Christine will be handling the publicity for our upcoming show in September.

Annual NAGT Show will be held at Sanger Branch Library on Central Avenue Friday and Saturday, September 25 and 26, 2009. Show times are: Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Entries are due on Wednesday, September 23 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The judging will take place on Thursday, September 24th.

The Tuesday night and Thursday daytime stitch-ins are still popular with our members.

We welcome you to come and enjoy stitching. learning, and visiting with the members of our guild.
